Pastor Merv Massey is the Senior Pastor of New Living Word Discipleship and Worship Center. He has been married to Elder Pamela A. Massey over 30 years; he is a devoted father of 4 children and a US Air Force Veteran. 

In 1989 Pastor Massey became a Licensed Minister while attending Word Life, in Hampton VA. Pastor Massey was ordained in 1992 while attending Rehoboth Fellowship Church in Newport News, VA.

Pastor Massey also served as an Inner City Missionary from 1992-1995. He worked with over 44 Christian Churches in the Virginia Peninsula and Tidewater areas. He coordinated Christian Community Development strategies that partnered churches, government agencies, public schools and businesses.  

In April 2004 Pastor Massey became the Senior Pastor of Silver Run Church. The name was later changed to "New Living Word Discipleship and Worship Center" to reflect the vision of:

"Bringing Mankind to Wholeness Through the Living Word"

John 1:14 "And the Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, Generous inside and out, true from start to finish.

In January 2013 New Town Road Community Church merged with New Living Word Discipleship & Worship Center to expand the reach of the vision in this area and across the world. This is the place where Your Identity, Your Abilities, and Your Purpose all come alive through the "Living Word." Jesus Christ is the Living Word. 

I. THE SCRIPTURES. The Bible is the inspired Word of God, the product of Holy Men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

II. THE GODHEAD. Our God is One, but manifested in three Persons--the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

III. MAN, HIS FALL AND REDEMPTION. Man is a created being, made in the likeness and image of God, but through Adam's transgression and fall, sin came into the world.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to undo the works of the devil and gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God.

The new birth is necessary to all men, and when fulfilled produces eternal life.

IV. BAPTISM IN THE HOLY GHOST. The Baptism in the Holy Ghost and Fire is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ for those who are believers in this dispensation and is received subsequent to the new birth.

V. HELL AND ETERNAL RETRIBUTION. The one who physically dies in his sins without Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the lake of fire and therefore has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or for repentance.
